“Because we only know that there’s going to be a show and the Glasgow Celtic will be there”
A brand new stage show, Celtic – The Musical has been created by Alterean Media with the official backing and support of Celtic Football Club.

Celtic – The Musical makes its debut Irish performance at The Gaiety Theatre, Dublin running from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th September, 2016. Tickets on sale now from Ticketmaster and The Gaiety Theatre Box Office.

Featuring the songs that have rung round Celtic Park over the years, the show tells the amazing story of this legendary club.

It takes audiences on an emotion-charged journey from the foundation of the football club by Brother Walfrid and its charitable origins through Willie Maley’s legendary successes as manager and the scoring feats of Jimmy McGrory. From the wing wizardry of Jimmy Johnstone to the triumphs of the immortal Jock Stein and the lasting legacy left by icons such as Billy McNeill, Tommy Burns and Henrik Larsson.

The show will premiere at Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre where it will run from 7th-17th September.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell commented: “Celtic is a Club like no other, with the richest history and tradition and a wonderful story which deserves to be told in this way”.

“The Musical will be a celebration of Celtic, one of the world’s true great football clubs and will take the audience on a fantastic journey through almost 130 years of history. We are sure this production will be extremely popular with all our supporters.”

Alterean Media previously enjoyed successes with the hit stage plays The Official History of Liverpool FC and One Night in Istanbul.  Writer, Nicky Allt said: “Celtic’s story is one about people, about immigration, and about a football club born of purpose. Growing up in Liverpool my family were always aware of Brother Walfrid, Celtic and its charitable foundations. Since then it has always been a story that resonated with me, fascinated me, and a story I always wanted to tell.”

Hannah Hawkshaw Debut Single ‘Efron Style’ Out Now

Hannah Hawkshaw has just released her debut single Efron Style.

Efron Style is a fun, light-hearted slice of pure radio-friendly pop music from Ireland’s newest budding pop star.

The Manchester-born and Dublin-raised singer-songwriter has always had a passion for entertaining.  As Hannah says, “Nothing beats the sweet sound of an audience applauding and putting a smile on someone’s face is awesome!”

In 2014 Hannah won the Teenstars All Ireland talent competition. In May of this year she represented Ireland at the Gibraltar International Song Festival Competition. The competition had over 700 competitors and Hannah earned a hugely impressive third place.

Hannah has invested all her winnings from her competition successes into the music video for Efron Style.  The impressive video was shot on location in her adopted home of Marbella.

Hannah is also a well-know fashion blogger.  She believes both music and fashion are intertwined as both are a form of self-expression.

Hannah bridges the gap between sunshiny, radio-friendly pop music and big stadium sound.  As comfortable in the studio as in front of a live audience, Hannah is set to become a big-stage favourite.

Efron Style is available to download on iTunes and Spotify.

The Gaiety Theatre presents The Matchmaker by John B. Keane for six performances only from 09 to 14 November, 2015.  Tickets from €25 including booking fee are on sale now.

The production stars television favourite Mary McEvoy,  known for her role as Biddy in the long running RTE TV series Glenroe.  Irish actor and comedian Jon Kenny who was part of the Irish comic duo D’Unbelievables with Pat Shortt joins Mary to complete the cast. Kenny is best known outside Ireland for appearing in the Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted. Together they play a myriad of characters in this hilarious and earthy dramatic comedy.

The play follows the efforts of Dicky Mick Dicky O’Connor to make matches for the lonely and lovelorn.

Keane was an avid observer of people and the cultures that bind and create their view of the world. He uses “The Matchmaker” as an exploration of rural loneliness, aware that generations of people became masters of their own destinies late in life and only then begin to look for companionship and love once their duties as minder of ageing parents were concluded.

Using his inimitable way with words and his  sense of “devilment” and wit, Keane delves into the longings, hungers, fears and foibles of this collection of lonely county people.  He creates a marvellously colourful world taking us back to a simpler time when phones were few and far between and the only web was one left behind by spiders.
“I saw it, laughed, cried, loved it and went again”
The Guardian

“Thoroughly entertaining”
Theatre Guide, London

“Kenny delivers his colourful rogues’ gallery with hilarious comic precision”

2014 sees THE WHO, one of rock’s legendary and defining bands celebrate 50 YEARS OF MAXIMUM R+B.

The WHO HITS 50 tour will see the band take their audience on an ‘Amazing Journey’ through their entire career from the days of THE HIGH NUMBERS to classic albums such as WHO’S NEXT, TOMMY, QUADROPHENIA, MY GENERATION, LIVE AT LEEDS up to the present day.

The tour kicks off at The O2, Dublin on November 26th and Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on the 28th before heading into the UK.

The show which PETE TOWNSHEND describes as ‘Hits, Picks, Mixes and Misses’ will see the band play all the classic anthems as well as tackling deeper cuts from their catalogue.

On the tour announcement, ROGER DALTREY said, “This is the beginning of the long goodbye.”

PETE TOWNSHEND commented, “Trying to stay young. Not wearing socks. Growing a great big Woodcutter’s beard. Might even wear a check shirt on stage and get a tattoo of a Union Jack. Always a fashion victim. But under no illusions. We are what we are, and extremely good at it, but we’re lucky to be alive and still touring. If I had enough hairs to split I would say that for thirteen years since 1964 The Who didn’t really exist, so we are really only thirty-seven”.

WHO HITS 50 will not only celebrate the fantastic contribution The Who have made to our musical heritage but also their remarkable contribution to youth culture old and new.

THE WHO have sold over 100 million records since forming in 1964, they brought together four different personalities and in effect produced a musical hurricane.  Each of them was a pioneer. Wildman drummer Keith Moon beat his kit with a chaotic elegance; stoic bassist John Entwistle held down the centre with the melodic virtuosity of a solo guitarist; raging intellectual Pete Townshend punctuated the epic universality of his songs with the windmill slamming of his fingers across his guitar strings; and Roger Daltrey roared above it all with an impossibly virile macho swagger. They exploded conventional rhythm and blues structures, challenged pop music conventions, and redefined what was possible on stage, in the recording studio, and on vinyl. As they enter their 50th year the band is still going strong winning rave reviews for their performances of QUADROPHENIA in 2013.
